Comparing star map with Orions Belt Stars.
This duplication throws up one weighty  question which is why did it take place.
The
why would most likely be connected to some religious event that was taking place in the group of stars. Possibly the birth of a star.
Maybe if the group of stars could be identified the religious event that was taking place there could become clearer.
There is one group of stars which can always be easily identified because of their distinctive size and formation, this group of stars are commonly known as the THREE BELT STARS of the Constellation of Orion.
The BELT STARS of Orion comprise two large stars and a medium star.
When a
red line is drawn through the centre of the two large stars there is a very distinctive pattern created which shows the two large stars running in line with each other from Northeast to Southwest.Further on and above the red line a medium star is positioned. (See Belt Star Map below coded yellow)
Below the Orion Belt Star Map and for comparison purposes I have placed the two large stars and the medium star from the old stone star map.

(Those three stars are coded green)
Looking at the comparison its very obvious that the two groups of stars are a perfect match.
The perfect match of the two groups of stars would seem to indicate that the small star and the rayed object were temporary guests in the vicinity of Orions Belt Stars between 3,000BC and 4,000BC  I beleive that the
small star was born near Orions Belt in a spectacular manner and that the rayed object is a Supernova Remnant associated with the star birth .
This brings us to the question how did the Peaks at Loughcrew come to duplicate the old star map. Did Mother Nature arrange all the Peaks to their proper sizes and in their correct positions in order to duplicate the old star map.
Or did the hand of man give some of the Peaks a nudge into position.
The two large stars would seem to be duplicated by two large natural Peaks.
The small star is duplicated by the small Peak named Carric Breac which when translated from Irish means Speckled Rock. The summit of this Peak would seem to be conveniently composed of speckled rock.If there ever was a monument similar to Newgrange built then inside this Peak would be the most likely place to discover it .  The medium star is duplicated by the medium Peak named Carnbane.
The Peaks of Loughcrew were patronised by a goddess named
Bera, after some investigation of Bera I discovered that she was an ancient mother goddess who is associated with pracically every part of Ireland. Although she must have been very powerful the only words she has sent down through the centuries are contained in a four lined Quatrain.      (See Below))

I am a poor Calliach Bera
Many a wonder I have seen
I have seen Carnbane a lake
                               Though now a mountain green

My interpretation of the Quatrain is that there was a mountain loch at Carnbane
which had been drained and the present Peak had been erected where the Loch had been.If the ancient goddess
Bera is to be believed then the ancient people had measured out in a Westerly direction from the centre of the large middle Peak whose old name was 'Slieve Na Calliagh' for  the exact spot to duplicate the medium star. When they arrived at the sacred spot for the duplication they found that the spot was occupied by  a mountain Loch.
They say that faith can move mountains but in the case of the ancient peoples, faith was used to move a mountain Loch and replace it with a sacred Peak rising to 124  feet high. If the goddess
Bera's Quatrain is true then the hand of man must have added a Peak which helped to form the present pattern of the  Peaks.
There is also a suspicion that the small Peak  may not be entirely natural. My reason for thinking  this is the fact that the small star must have been revered as a GOD.
